Music Video Post #9: Convention Analysis

 

What Conventions Were Used

Alternative Rock music videos typically show a band or singer singing/playing the song physically while the song is heard on the screen at the same time.


In an effort to model the quality of the late 90s and early 2000s' graphics, we utilized lightning stock videos to show Ellis being cursed onscreen. It is reminiscent of videos like The Offspring's where the editing technology was much less advanced.

We incorporated a romance plot along with the physical singing of the song. The plot of the story lines up with the story told in the song "Creep," where Ellis is isolated due to her being green but tries to find love despite this.
